Okay I just got my iPhone 5c a week and ago and it was working great, but all of sudden today my phone sound stopped working. This means no sound at all ringtones/ notifications and even music. The software is completely up to date, all the volume controls are turned all the way up, and it's not muted by switch on the side. I have no idea what the problem is. I even reset it and that did nothing, any ideas about what I can do?

The sound does work through headphones, though

Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to open the Control Center and see if the little crescent moon is white. If it is white, tap on it to turn it off (it will change to a grey color). That is the Do Not Disturb option and it may have been turned on accidently.

OK, then try resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Apple appears, the reset is in progress and the Home screen should display shortly. See if that clears up your issue.

When you go into Settings>Sounds, and move the sound slider under "Ringers and Alerts" do you hear anything at all?

No, when you slide it down and up....
Also, try toggling the mute switch on the side of the phone a couple of times. What you are needing to do here is to check to see if you can re-enable the sound by changing the current settings a bit.
