Password Generator in Safari - so far, all generated passwords have not been accepted by various sites as they have hyphens in them. Is there a way around this?

It's the Mac application that came with Mavericks.
Most sites reject the password "suggestion" and there doesn't seem to be a way to remove the hyphens and then resubmit the password.
Carolyn, Giles is talking about the password generator provided by Safari. For example:
Safari always suggests a password in this format (with three hyphens), but many websites reject passwords with hyphens.
So the function becomes effectively useless. Hopefully this is fixed in Yosemite...
I note that this was posted in 2014, and there is no reply to it. Does anyone know if there has been any change, because Safari still suggests passwords with hyphens, and I cannot find anything in Safari Preferences to alter the format?
Not that I can find. Apple needs to allow "no hyphen" option in Safari preferences.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.
