Lost Unzipped Files

Hola,

So I was sent a zipped file with 1.07GB of music. I unzipped it, it seemed to have worked, but then i couldn't find it anywhere. I tried again, still no joy. Then I tried again, but beforehand I looked at my memory to see if my free space was lowering, low and behold it was, each time. I've tried searching using finder, spotlight, ive tried to unzip the file to the desktop, ive looked in downloads and in the unarchiver app ( the tool i used to unzip). This has never happened before. I really wanna delete those files, they are taking up way too much space!

Thank you in advance,

Whenow

Unless you have a compelling reason to use a non-Apple utility to unzip files, just open the .zip file using OS X's default actions for such files.

Copy the .zip file attachment to the Desktop, then control-click and from the contextual menu that appears, select Open With > Archive Utility.

I have no idea what "the unarchiver app" will do that can possibly convey any advantages.
