My computer is copying quite slowly to my hard drive

Hello all,

I'm attempting to copy over an iPhoto library to my MyPassport 2TB hard drive. The MyPassport drive has been formatted and is completely empty, so there's space enough to be sure. My issue is that my computer simply is transferring at a speed of .1 mbps. Now, as this is a 3.0 drive I was a bit confused as to why this was happening. I checked the MyPassport drive with my other computer in the house and it transferred a file 3 gigs in size in a matter of seconds. What setting might be off in my computer that is causing it not to let go of the iPhoto library? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't wish to wait the estimated ten days for this thing to finish.
