quicktime screen fades and does not play movie trailers

When I start QuickTime and try to load a movie trailer, a webpage opens with the movie trailers available but when I click on a movie trailer, it loads a full screen webpage with a "play" button but when I click on the "play" button, the only thing that happens is the screen fades. I am on windows 7 and use IE
