Q: Apple ][ europlus - set up help

I am in California and have an Apple ][ europlus (from UK) which I want to get working. Model AA11040C, 230 V ac 50Hz 0.5A PSU. I want to know if I can plug in directly to US domestic power socket, but US power is 60Hz, will this blow/damage the PSU? Any advice appreciated.

You can get 50Hz to 60Hz frequency converter.

Wow, that's a pricey option - but my real question is - does it need conversion? UK laptops, desktops and even monitors work in the US and vice versa, I think only thing that needs conversion is anything with a motor. I am being cautious as I don't want to blow this up.

Yes, it needs conversion. You are going to want to buy a domestic 115v (or switchable between US/European) power supply and use that instead. Online auctions generally have them available. Be sure you get one with the correct plug for your motherboard (i.e. not the IIgs version).
