FYI: This is not the iPhone/iPad/iTunes forum

This forum is for the long-defunct office application 'AppleWorks'. It's not a catch-all forum for 'how Apple Works'. You might get an answer posting here on a non-Appleworks question; or you might not. In your own interests please make the effort to post in a relevant forum, where you will find people eager to answer your questions.

Also please note, http://discussions.apple.com/ is the root level of Apple Support Communities

From there you can select your product. If you can't find your product, or where you purchased it from Apple it likely is not your forum.

If you have a Mac, go to Apple menu -> About This Mac to find your operating system if it is running Apple's operating system.

If you have a Mac with Microsoft's operating system, people in this forum may help:

If you have a Mac with a Server operating system, this forum may help:

If you purchased an App for your iPad, iPod Touch, or iPhone, this forum may help:

Doesn't seem to have any effect, does it. In order to get to this obscure forum, people have to go to the front page, scroll down four rows, click the 'Applications' icon and choose from AppleWorks, iChat and iCal. Why in Gandalf's name someone with a query about an iPhone would do this completely escapes me (as does the number of people who find their way to the equally obscure 'Producing Podcasts' forum).

I have been requesting the odd posts which arrived here to be moved, but it's got out of hand and I have other things to do.

Maybe what's needed is a note to the hosts/moderators that says:

  • Well over 50% of the posts here have nothing to do with AppleWorks
  • There are still enough users of AppleWorks and users who discover that AW will not work with their current OS X version that closing the community would not be an appropriate action
  • The small number of users actively monitoring the community do try to answer questions germane to the community
  • These users also try to request transfers of questions that should be directed to another community, but are becoming overwhelmed with the recent frequency of this type of question.
  • Ditto for the load of spam that's hit this and other communities in the past while.
    and suggests.
  • That the host(s) open a subscription to this community to deal directly with redirects and spam.

Regards,

Barry

I posted a topic in Community Operations about this just a few minutes ago. Since then I've been going through & reporting each of these topics for relocation. I'm beginning to wonder if someone is moving these posts to this forum because they have no idea where they belong.

In the past many users would find this forum through a Google or other search. That must still be happening because there just can't be that many users who can find this forum otherwise.
