US iPhone car charger in UK

I'm traveling to Scotland and Ireland next month and was wondering if iPhone car chargers used in the US will work with the UK and Ireland cars we will rent? I vaguely recall owning a British Triumph Spitfire in my youth that was positive ground instead of the standard negative ground system found in the US.

Any insight would be appreciated.
