How can I download Google, Bing or another recognized web search engine on a brand new Mac Air? There must be a web search engine that will work on the MacBook Air.

Thank you for the information. I will give Safari a try.

You are right. Both Google and Bing are within the Safari app. Apple products are known to be very intuitive. This location of the search engines is not at all intuitive to me. But, now I know where the search engines are located. So, I am all set. Thanks again for your reply.

What did you have in mind? A search engine is not a separate application. It's something incorporated in browsers such as Safari or Firefox. Perhaps you should state your query more precisely if you want a more definitive answer. Every browser I've tried using allow you to change search engines. All of them use Google as their default search engine. Safari provides Google, Bing, Yahoo, and YandEX. Third-party extensions can provide many more options.

Thank you, again. This was helpful.

My previous experience with Apple products was with the iPad and the iPhone. With those products, search engines (like Google, Bing, etc.) are apps from the App Store. With the iOS, clicking on the search engine icon takes you directly to the search function. (I assume that it opens Safari in the background to achieve this.) The iOS also offers the option of opening Safari and the going to www.google.com or www.bing.com. I think that the iOS approach is perfect. I assumed a common approach for all Apple products. That assumption was incorrect.

Thanks, again, for your timely assistance.
