"tlbsearch' is the name of a web site, not Mac malware, but it is undoubtedly caused by some adware that you have accidentally installed. Carolyn's link to the Adware Removal Guide will help you identify it or just use his automated Adware Removal Tool to get rid of all currently know adware.
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

I just did this, it worked like a charm, although when searching for adons and extensions it did not show any in chrome-my default browser, just safari and firefox, after doing scan and delete asked me to reset the computer, did it, al is ok
Sorry, but my advise is now out-of-date here. The Adware Removal Tool has been replaced by AdwareMedic now which does a better job of cleaning thing up, especially with regard to Chrome.
I found one source after debugging my Mac system for a day and checking Safari, Chrome, and Firefox.
It was the extension FlashFree (by Tomczyk) on Chrome. Disavling this a reloading the page sorved the problem. All underlined words disappeared and with them the tlbsearch.com pop-ups.
Btw. Adware Medic didn't find this adware, neither did Avast antivirus.

I'll let thomas_r. know. Did it find anything else? If so, what as this sounds like it may be a new name for an old extension.
neither did Avast antivirus.
Not surprising as most A-V software won't find adware and those that do generally won't remove them.
Yes, for Safari and Chrome it did find a number of instances marked Spigot (Amazon Shopping, Ebay Shopping, Searchme-2, Slick Savings).
I found this extension, still on the Chrome store. I have also gotten one other report from someone indicating that FlashFree was causing ads. However, I can't duplicate that behavior. Do you know if the problem got worse over time after installing FlashFree, or if it only affected certain sites?
It may have become worse over time and it doesn't affect all sites. But is does affect essentially all large news sites, such as newspapers all over the world. Just checked that it affects svd.se a major swedish newspaper.
Here is a recent screenshot of a NY Times page and another screenshot when moving the cursor over one of the underlined words.
