Why do i get charged $1.00 to my credit card just for signing up an Apple ID?

I have to put in my credit card information in order to create my Apple ID so I did. And when i checked my bank account it says "ITUNES MUSIC STORE AUSTRALIA" charged for $1.00. And I'm sure that was for signing up the apple ID because I've never put my card information to any apple ID before. Please help. I know it's not a big money here in Australia but it certainly is in my home country. I want to know why it got deducted and if any possible to get refund

I believe this thread from "More Like this" will answer your question:

I updated my account info and iTunes charges me for something I didn't buy. Why?
