Photos and Videos taking WAY to much space

I've seen other threads with the photos and videos taking like 1 GB, 800 MB, but when I go to Settings --> General --> Usage, I see that the Photos & Camera app are taking up bloody 24,8 GB of space! My iPad is a 64 GB iPad, and I certainly did not expect this to happen. This has been going on for quite a while now.. actually, a couple of months, and now I'm just bloody sick of it.

There's nothing in the Photo Library and nothing in the Photo Stream. The photos and videos are taking up so much space that I've had to delete some really good videos, photos and apps. All my videos are from 10 seconds to 3 minutes long, and I don't have that many photos. I have no idea why this happened! I'm running out of space all the time and it's really a kick in the back to constantly delete stuff I like. Something is really wrong here, and what's worse is I DO NOT HAVE A COMPUTER, so I can't backup or reset to iTunes or anything like that.

What I 100% can't do:

- Delete stuff. I'm 100% positive that there's no way I'm using over 24 GB of space to photos and videos, so deleting stuff won't help.

- Backup/reset/whatever to iTunes. No computer...

- Delete all my pictures and videos. Firstly, there's no way to do that without a computer, except deleting everything on my bloody iPad. Secondly, I most certainly do not want to delete all my photos, videos, apps or ANYTHING.

I don't know if there's a problem with my iPad so I need to get it repaired again, or something. Please help me!

The reason the videos are taking so much space is because they're probably high quality, like 1080p or even 4k, which takes up lots of space. If you want to keep your HD and ultra HD videos and pictures, you need to put some in another storage device, like a USB flash drive, or put it in online storage like google drive, which starts you with 15GB of space for free.

you will definitely need a computer for this. if you can borrow a computer or use one that can connect to your Ipad, by putting the USB cable (end of the charger) into the computer. If you can't borrow one, then you can always go out to the library or use a computer in the apple store/microsoft store. you don't need itunes for this. If you have a USB flash drive, which come in 8GB 16GB 32GB and so on, you can transfer the video files in your ipad, to the computer, then into the flash drive. If you happen to have a USB flash drive with a ipad charger tip, and is compatible with your ipad, then use it, because you wouldn't need a computer for this. All you have to do is put the front into your ipad charging place. An Ipad USB looks something like this:

And here's what a regular USB looks like:

And I'm sure you checked that your photos are 1 to 2 MB each and all your videos are only 10 seconds long. It doesn't take an "awesome professional" to solve your non-existent problem, just common sense.

When you contact Apple, could you also ask them to look into why my five-gallon bucket doesn't hold ten gallons of nonsense?

How much space is used by your Other? You may be able to reduce.

How to Remove “Other” Data from iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch

http://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-remove-other-data-from-iphone/

With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

I've tried everything!

None of this works.

"Delete «other» data"

I can't. I have to make an iTunes backup, but I don't have a computer.

"Make an iTunes backup and restore everything"

Can't. I have no PC.

"Delete all photos and videos"

Heh, nope.

x

"Store the photos and videos in the cloud"

Bet iCloud couldn't fit my photos and videos. Also, I don't know how to do it.

"Move all photos and videos to a wireless flash drive"

I have no where to put that flash drive, which means I can't ever view my photos again unless I get a computer.

"Move all photos and videos to a computer"

I. Don't. Have. A. Computer.

Sidenote: Some of my videos are about 10 seconds long, and some of them are about 2-3 minutes long, and I'm sure that it doesn't use almost 25 GB of space. My iPad Mini 64 GB was a waste. What's the point of it if it's actually just about 40 GB?!

What am I supposed to do? It's 100% impossible that my thousand photos and two hundred videos are taking up almost 25 GB of space. I KNOW that for sure. I hate my iPad. Something is always wrong with it. I'll give a million golden coins to whoever helps me with this dang problem.r

"Have you checked that YOUR videos are 10 seconds long? You don't need an «awesome proffesional» to solve your problem. Do the math."

I've done the math in every way I can. Even if I multiply my result by, say.. 10, it still doesn't add up to 25 GB of space. I'm pretty sure I need a proffesional.

At the rate the OP is generating photos and videos, that's hardly a long term solution. And a very expensive one at that (64GB for $65-$95). Wireless hard drives are a much better fit (1TB for $150-$180). Something like the http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Wireless-Storage-Streaming-STCK1000100/dp/B00AQRUW 4Q/ref=sr_1_14?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1404059461&sr=1-14&keywords=Wireless+Fl ash+Dri

But as Philly_Phan stated, long term solution and anticipated future needs (backups, editing, sharing, etc) all point to a need for a computer.
