Q: iBook Author

If I publish an ibook using ibook author, can it be read on a PC using the Adobe ebook reader? Is a pdf the only way of a windows user to read an ibook?

We'd like to use this tool to create communications for a broad audience that are associated with a non profit. Many, probably most of the audience will own PCs.

Thanks

Yes, the only way a PC can read a book you create in iBooks Author is for you to export the book to pdf format.

Instead you could create your book in .epub format.  The Apple app for that is Pages, but there are many others.
