Cursor disappeared in windows 8

Hey guys,

I've had windows 8 installed on my Macbook pro for almost 6 months now without fault. Recently when i log into the bootcamp side of the computer I see the mouse cursor at the log in screen but when I get into the OS it disappears which is very frustrating. I can get around this painfully with tab and waving my mouse around until something highlights but this isn't something I can live with for very long.

I have looked online at other forums and have tried pressing F1-F12 (with and without fn) but it hasn't done anything. Also I have uninstalled and reinstalled the multitouch windows driver provided by apple but that has also not made a difference. I was wondering if there was anything else I could try to fix this without reinstalling everything I have on the partition.

If you need anymore information from me please ask!

Thanks

Derek
