Camera Fly Through 79 photos

I am trying to use a fly through in the archived link above but I cant seem to get the photos to space out like I want them in Z space...

Everything looks really good if I use 22 photos but some are still to close to each other and If I add more and change the ranks to 44 ...

which is how many I have in the video it piles them up....I want about 2 secs between each photo and want to be able to arrange

them so they are all visible? But it seems to randomly throw them all over and doesnt allow Z space changes to individual photos...

I have a movie with each photo at 1 frame....any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Tested some things and while Motion was open and Image Sequence was running I highlighted my images and clicked the green plus sign in Image Sequence app...it shifted to the finder window and continue started flashing lightly....I clicked continue and Image Sequence app went away but nothing happened in Motion so I tried reimporting as an image sequence and it dumped everything in groups again and dropped some image...wow this shouldn't be this hard right? Heres a shot of the Image Sequence app running in Motion its the gear on the top...I also noticed it running in FCPX at the same time.User uploaded file

You drop the image folder on the applet from the finder. Don't try to run it from inside Motion. Once you convert the images to a sequence, you use the File Browser inside Motion to find the folder and add the image sequence. The images inside the folder should be named:

ImgSeq_0001.type, ImgSeq_0002.type, etc...

All the applet is supposed to do is change the file names of the images in the folder and make them accessible in Motion AS an image sequence. They don't even have to all be the same dimensional size.

Ok all images are numbered in ordered....I had done this manually and with automator quite few times but Motion is still not creating a single sequence when they are imported...weather I tick or un-tick import sequence during import....weather I turn on or off the collapse button...it imports them the same in individual groups...only thing is if I tick the import sequence box its drops images...if I un-tick it .....it imports everything but still in groups....😠

Looking at the images in the browser they are not all getting renamed with the same [####].jpg:22:23 stamps some

are just name.0043.jpg ...I can assume these are the ones getting dropped in the Motion which is breaking the sequence import..

You don't see these file names in Finder...

I am going to convert some others and test....

hmmm same results?

Really strange things...Finder shows 48 photos renamed correctly which is what I have in there right now....

The File browsers shows 27 photos total in that directory 13 named file.jpg and 12 named in the sequence naming convention?

Stumped really stumped....converted several test folders now with completely differing results as to which get converted and which get dropped etc..?

I have no idea what's happening... Why are the image sequences broken up into "chunks"?

4-5 6-7 8-13 14-15 16-17 19-20 21 22-24 25 26-27 28-29 30-31 32-34 35-36 37 38-42 43

That shouldn't happen at all! You have more contiguous numbers there > 4 - 17 and 19 - 43 so I have no idea why Motion is breaking them up.

Have you trashed preferences? Are you using the latest version?

Knew something wasn't right? I don't know in Finder they are just labeled ImgSeq_001.jpg etc...they only look like this in Motion?

I wonder if theres some memory sharing going on..I kind of saw this with Tif images years ago at a place I worked because Java was

sharing memory space and getting confused but that was 10 yrs ago...

Ive only had Motion 5 for 5 weeks...I assume its the newest.... Downloaded from apple Store...

Mac is Mavericks everything fully patched?

How can I clear the Motion preferences? I never changed them personally?

Sometimes the App Store fails to install software correctly because there may have been some permissions problems, or other excuses (Apple is never crystal clear about what can go wrong.)

**Everybody** (and I do mean *all of us*) use Preference Manager to trash preferences when it becomes necessary. You can download it here: http://digitalrebellion.com/prefman/

If you trash preferences and nothing changes, trash them again and trash Motion. Use Disk Utility to repair your disk permissions and download Motion again (you can do this as often as necessary, no extra charge.)

If you'd like to pass on the whole experience, I wrote this short blog entry on how to create an Image Sequence directly in Motion (doesn't even necessarily require images -- just objects.) I posted it here: http://fx.svbtle.com/creating-an-image-sequence-in-apple-motion

From what I have been reading the image sequence should be naming them image:[####].jpg:13:17 at least in the browser view

the 13 is the image number and the 17 is the position in the sequence but I think the failure to

get all the images converted properly is causing the sequence import to fail completion leaving things a mess.

I am working on your manual image sequence Fox but I am still concerned as to why I cant get Motion to do this....

I could see using this effect and import alot which makes this painful if I cant fix the real issue going on?

The guys at MacBreak explain a little of the sequence numbering here
