What is the difference between iMovie 10.0.3 and iMovie 11?
I am taking a class on iMovie 11 but my Macbook Air has iMovie 10.0.3. I tried to search for iMovie 11 in the App store but all it shows is iMovie 10.0.3. What am I doing wrong?

iMovie '11 (as in 2011) is version 9. iMovie version 10 (sometimes referred to as iMovie '13) is the latest version of iMovie.
If you you upgraded to iMovie version 10, the previous version should have been left behind in your Applications folder.

Nothing.
Apple has a … a bit weird number-scheme for iMovie:
iMovie = ver. 1
iMovie2-4 = ver. 2-4
iMovieHD = ver.. 5
iMovie06 = ver. 6
iMovie08 (published 2008…) = ver. 7
iMovie09 (published 2009…) = ver. 8
iMovie11 (published 2011…) = ver. 9
iMovie10 (published 2013…) = ver. 10 ...
(some call iMovie10 = iMovie13 .... )
savvy? 😉
plus, the AppStore offers only the latest versions...
iMovie 10.0.3 is the latest version which requires Mavericks and comes with new machines. If your Macbook Air was updated from an earlier version of the OS with iMovie '11 (= iMovie) then iMovie 9 should still be available to use in the Applications folder, in its own folder.
iMovie '11 is only available in the App store to apply minor updates to machines that already have iMovie '11 and are not running Mavericks.
If your Mac is new and came with iMovie 10 then you have to instal iMovie 9 from an iLife '11 installation DVD.
Geoff.
I am curious. Have any of you been able to use iMovie 11 with El Capitan?
