Newbie needs help!

Hi, I'm new to programming and I really want to learn Apple's Swift. I've been wanting to learn programming for a long time and since Swift is brand new I thought now would be the best time to start. I tried following this Apple video series and I've watched 10minutes of the 'Introduction to Swift' video, but I don't understand it. I'm still running XCode 5. Would it be easier for me to learn Swift if I installed XCode 6?

When you write toy are new to programming, just how new?

I would steer clear of Swift if you are just learning programming. No language is released without some problems and need for change. You will have enough dealing with your own problems as you learn programming you do not need to be dealing with the errors and changes a new language id sure to have.

I did some Visual Basic 6 coding about 10 years ago and I can write web pages in HTML.

What's wrong with using Swift???

Should I upgrade to XCode 6?
