burn cd-any limit?

I want to put together a CD to play when on vacation (plan to put on a DVD sized disk- either SL or DL depending on file size). I haven't figured out exactly what final playlist I want... and may want to tweak it over time. Is there a limit to the number of times I burn a song to a CD if it is a song that is purchased and protected? I have never burned a CD from my iTunes, but am concerned that I might use up all my times I can create a CD just because I have changed/added/deleted songs from the playlist I want to have, having to create a new disk each time.

I presume maybe I could bypass this issue if I burn it on a RW disk? Will I be able to print a playlist even if some songs have hit their limit?

You can also avoid this issue if you simply buy your tunes from Amazon on MP3 format and then just simply import it into your Itunes library. Amazon doesn't seem to impose this limit on its media. I've been doing this for years and am happy to say I prefer Amazon since I burn a lot of CDs for non-commercial distribution. No need to create new playlists. 🙂

Depends upon the kind of media. For most people these days no limit, but if you have protected, 7 times. I think the limits were for audio format CDs, not for "backup" media where you are simply copying files as they are. You can't put audio format on a DVD. You can burn the media as-is to a DVD as long as you have a player where you are going that can play the media, and if you have protected songs it can be authorized to your account.

You can burn an audio CD of a specific playlist with protected songs 7 times.

After 7 burns, you can still burn a protected song to an audio CD if you made a new playlist (not simply a new playlist with the exact same songs)

You are burning a DVD disc so # of burns is irrelevant. You cannot burn an audio DVD using iTunes and you cannot burn a protected song to audio DVD using other apps.

You could burn a playlist of protected songs to an audioCD. That audioCD could then be used in iTunes as any other audioCD.
