DMG mounting twice and launching when finder opens

Dear All,

I have 2 problems concerning dmg's.....

1) I have a dmg that keeps being mounted when i open finder. I've tried editing/deleting the com.apple.finder.plist from the User/Library/Preferences folder and it keeps returning. The mounting occurs independent of which folder your opening. Of the 31 dmg's i've built, this only happens with 1 file. I've completely rebuilt the file including the read/write file and it still happens.

2) After a dmg has been compressed, when run, it mounts twice ......1 when you double click the dmg to launch and the second time when the window opens. According to the mounts info, the first mounting is the dmg, the second mounting is the original read/write version i have. These are my first mac installers.....and I'm guessing this double mount behaviour is not normal.

Any information would be greatly received.

Some further information..............the double mounting seems to be happening after i set a the background image to picture. Having the background image file invisible or visible has same effect......once the background has been set with a picture , reverting to colour or white background does not cure the problem you still get the double mounting problem..............any thoughts

Hi,

I had the same problem and before you un-mount and compress run this:

chmod -Rf go-w /Volumes/"${VOLUME_NAME}"

...from the command line.

Hi,

I'm having a smilar problem. If I move the DMG from the folder where I build it to another folder or to the desktop it's getting mounted only once. But if I copy it it's getting mounted twice. It's the same here, when I remove the background image everything is going fine. I'm also calling chmod -Rf go-w /Volumes/"${VOLUME_NAME}" before un-mounting. Anyone an idea?

I had the same issue.

There seemed to have been a script running in the background that kept mounting the drive when I was creating an dmg. How I resolved my issue was go to the terminal and type

ps auxwww | grep master

this will list all instance that are running. If you see scripts that you where running in terminal just kill that process

sudo kill -9 "process id"
