Jun 26, 2014 1:53 PM in response to JackFosterby mhkrause,There appears to be an issue with the app trying to sync using cellular data. If you put the device in airplane mode, the app will not crash. This started about an hour ago and hopefully they will undo/fix whatever they did on the backend. The app itself does not appear to be the issue.

Jun 26, 2014 2:22 PM in response to JackFosterby Etrips3,I am having the same problem and as stated before. This started happening like an hour ago! I'm sure this is a problem on Apple's side. The app crashes if I'm on 3G or if I'm connected to a Wi-Fi spot but seems to be happening when the app tries to sync up.

Jun 26, 2014 2:24 PM in response to JackFosterby mrjarrett,I agree with mhkrause. I suddenly got this problem. Reinstalling software does not work. Aeroplane mode does for both my ipad and iphone.
I agree this looks like an Apple backend problem
Probably something to do with icloud syncing that podcast app uses to keep progress on podcast listening between devices
Hope they realise and fix it soon

Jun 26, 2014 2:31 PM in response to JackFosterby doryfish, same here too, really frustrating....!
iphone will work if I put in airplane mode but not anything else
Crashes within seconds; I also removed and reinstalled (twice) and didn't make a blind bit of difference. Tried deleting some apps in case it was a memory problem!
Fingers crossed this is sorted soon!

Jun 26, 2014 2:37 PM in response to JackFosterby lorienenen,Same issue, Oregon.
Same negative thoughts about iphone. If this were the first time it had happened, I wouldn't be as annoyed, but the new products/OS/apps are buggy as **** compared to when I first bought an Iphone 3GS. I wish I could go back to my old iphone, but the software and apps have largely been "upgraded" past it.
Podcasts seem to work as long as both cell and wifi are off, which means that you can't download new episodes unless you sync on the computer and you can't have the phone on while you listen to a podcast. What's the point of having everything on one device, again...?

Jun 26, 2014 2:50 PM in response to JackFosterby Basher Ashton,Same here in the United Kingdom.
Put iPhone in Airplane mode and app does not crash. Take it out and it crashes after a second or two of checking for new podcasts on app start-up.
I have tried removing app, reconfig reboot of iPhone, removed all data showing in iTunes/Music, reconfig reboot and then an app re-install.
App still crashes.
No idea why this should start crashing but there is a lot of app crash log files that have been sent to Apple from my phone so I hope they are on the ball.
This is a worry as I have over 78 feeds I subscribe to and really would;t be able to live without my daily podcasts.
First real issues have had in 18 months with Apple but not a good experience in the last 2 hours.

Jun 26, 2014 2:56 PM in response to JackFosterby tzj89,Same thing is happening to me, I've tried everything. Restore, restoring my settings, turning off and on, deleting the app and downloading it again, and syncing the phone and so far the only thing that has worked is putting my phone on airplane mode, which isn't too convenient.
