Why did you buy the 30 gig not the 60 gig?

So if it is more than 14 days nothing can be done?

Big vote for John Lewis here in the UK. I bought a 60gig iPod at the end of August and because John Lewis operates a 28 day returns policy they have agreed to exchange my 60gig for the new 80gig as well as refunding me the £50.00 difference!

Now that's what I call service!

I have the same case with 60GB. It is amazing because I have lost money and the opportunity to get the new 80GB for one week. In addition I purchased at Brandsmart USA but I did not see that they have "0 day return policy" and, of course, they do not want to accept the return. Please, do not purchase at Brandsmart USA.

If you bought it directly from Apple the policy is 14 days. However, other retailers have different return polcies. Most BB and CC that I've seen have 30 day return policies, as does Walmart.

Apple boy hates anyone to return anything. The 10% restocking fee generally forces most not to return it anyway. Plus you must pay the shipping to get it back to them. Ebay is a good alternative, but I bet there are a ton of iPods on there right now for sale. I have no looked!
