Google Chrome drains MacBook Air battery faster than Safari!

Question

Hello!

I use Apple Safari as my main browser.

However, I tried Google Chrome the other day.

For the most part it was very good!

However, I noticed that it trained my MacBook Air's battery excessively!

I am not sure why!

Safari usually handles battery life very well!

Specs-

Model- MacBook Air

Display- 11.6 inch

Storage- Apple 128 GB SSD

RAM- 8 GB

CPU- 1.3 GHz Intel Core I5

OS- Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9.3

Exact Model- MacBookAir6,1

Year- June 2013

Others have reported the same.

Use Safari. Safari is optimized for OS X.

I also use Firefox and Opera in addition to Safari. Google Chrome has a reputation for not coexisting well with OSX. I do not use it.
