what cable do i need to connect a Macbook pro to a Cinema HD Screen in order see my laptop screen larger?

I want to connect my Macbook Pro up to a cinema HD screen so that i can use a larger screen for editing photos. I am unsure what cable i need to do this, my screen already has a cable attached but won't fit into the macbook due to the fitting (i am unsure of the name of the cable.) Also can a cinema HD screen be calibrated?
