How do I appeal a review removal?

Customer care said my review does NOT violate the rules, but won't reinstate it.

According to the Terms and Conditions, Apple has the final say about what is acceptable:

Apple reserves the right to not post or publish any materials, and to remove or edit any material, at any time in its sole discretion without notice or liability.

If you have an idea about what may have triggered the removal, feel free write a new version in a way that may be more acceptable.

I think you might have misunderstood me. I talked to an AppleCare Rep and she said the review was fine the way it was written - it did NOT violate any part of the user agreement. I'm sorry this reply took so long, but the email notification went to SPAM for some reason.

In any case, I spoke to a supervisor who told me that the developer removed the review. According to him, the developer can remove any review for any reason, and Apple has no control over it. They specifically told me that a developer could remove all 1-star reviews if they had the time and inclination. So, there is no way to get my review back up. Pretty sad considering it was about the developer banning my disabled nephew from the app because he could be "dangerous" to "normal" children.

I called again hoping for a different answer, but got the same one from a different supervisor, so I believe them. It's just sad to find out that shady businesses can manipulate their ratings whenever they feel like it.

Obviously Apple does have control over what appears on their store, although they may be choosing not to exercise that control. I do not have independent confirmation of what you were told, and frankly am a bit skeptical. But if true, it seriously diminishes the credibility of the reviews in the App Store.
