I have a folder that i keep saved mail in....regarding a particular subject and this morning i went into it and all the email are gone...the folder is still there....i need to retrieve them and was wondering if anyone can help me with this.....

From the title of this post I gather AOL is your email provider? If so, iCloud does not do anything to your email messages, it does not back up your email messages, and it does not modify them.
It is possible there is some problem with Mail.app downloading your files.
Try logging onto your email using the web interface for your AOL email and checking if the messages are stored there.
More details such as whether you are using IMAP or POP would help us out too.
it's on my desktop (mac), my iPad, and my phone....but all the email is gone from within that folder....please excuse me, but i have no idea where i can find out if i am using IMAP or POP....it's the aol software....
Are you using your computer's Mail application, or a different mail application (such as Outlook)?
Please try logging into your email account on the web (perhaps http://webmail.aol.com or something along those lines)
This problem is unrelated to Apple or iCloud. I suggest you might want to contact AOL about why some of your data are missing.
You may also want to check your Email's trash, or do a search to see if they have ended up in another folder.
Where was it saved, in Mail (on your Mac) or on AOL's website.
not outlook...it says AOL MAIL in the upper left hand corner....
Take a screenshot and post it here, it sounds as if you are using the website but your description is not very clear.
the folders are to the left...i found some of them and put them back into the folder...but i'd like to find all of them....
That's not your computer, it's AOL's website, you'll need to contact them for help recovering the photo's.
