It is not unheard of for a computer ethernet's port to get fried during an electrical misadventure (e.g.: lighting strike) without the rest of the computer being affected.


If your USB ports are working, you could use something like this to go wireless:

The one I linked works with OS 10.4; others may require OS 10.5

I'd call OWC (the vendor) on this one to maybe sure it works on an older Mac. It is not clear from the description if it does. However .my experience with OWC is that they have excellent pre-sale tech support.


I'm curious what device you are using to post your question. It has commas instead of spaces:
