Can I fix dylibs?

I wanted to install Wine on my Mac so that I could play Windows only Steam games. Home-brew didn't work because of a "zlib" problem so I tried to do it from source using "./configure". It configured and I entered "make" to continue the process when it then says DYLD: Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libz.dylib. After a few attempts and a lot of research trying to find other ways to install Wine something happened and now the dylib is affecting everything else on my computer. TeamViewer and Google Chrome not won't work because of this error and I have no idea what to do to fix it.


Is there a way I can reset, reinstall, or do anything to fix this dylib problem? I would really like to use Wine and Chrome.


I have heard I could reinstall OS X but I am trying to avoid that hoping there is an answer somewhere on the Internet.


Please help, problem is irritating.

I don't know if this will help:


If you see this error in your system logs or in the terminal

"dyld: shared cached file was build against a different libSystem.dylib, ignoring cache"


Open terminal, type in this command, press enter.

sudo update_dyld_shared_cache


Press RETURN. Type in your admin passsword, press RETURN, again. Your password is not echoed to the window, so type carefully.


If this doesn't help, then you probably need to reinstall OS X.

It would appear you are trying to install an incompatible version of software. There is a dylib issue, but the one you have installed is incompatible with your version of OS X. You are installing software that will not work with Yosemite. And, you should not be posting about it here.


Please don't post here about beta software. There are confidential forums set aside for developers to use. Developer Forums. If you are a paid developer or seed tester then it's a violation of your NDA to post in these forums. If you aren't a developer or seed tester then you have an illegal copy.


When you downloaded the beta software you agreed to an NDA and were provided with a special forum for discussions and bug reporting. Please use that forum.
