Hide sidebar in Numbers?

Helped me too, and reminded me how Apple's SW designers (led by their management team) are blowing it.

I searched the Numbers Help pages for ten minutes before giving up and coming here.

The only good news for Apple is that Microsoft's SW designers seem to be going over the same cliff. I tried to port my simple Numbers spreadsheet over to the latest version of excel (which I used to get paid to use years ago), and that too is overloaded with cutesy-emoji-centric garbage tools, making it nearly useless unless you grind through hundreds of pages of their manual.

Click the brush-shaped Format icon at top right of window.

Sorry and never mind -- I just noticed you asked about iCloud Numbers

You can select the spanner > settings > hide format panel.

Since the title doesn't say iCloud, I thought this article was about the desktop version of numbers. And your response actually helped me!! thanks
