I have Photoshops CS6 and Photoshop CC on my 2012 MBP running Mavericks

Thanks

Hey DaBurner,
Click on a PSD file to highlight it and then press command-I to bring up the info screen. Under the Open with section, change it to Photoshop CS6 and then click on the Change all button to set all PSD files to open with this program.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for your fast response.
However I did this process before and clicked on the "change all", but does not change it to CS6
A box does appear and asks if I want all PSD file to open in PCS6, I click yes or continue.
Is there a security setting I am missing to open or allow for these changes ?
I notice that if I "control -click" on a PSD file it has the Photoshop CC labeled as (default), under the "open with".
I am open to more ideas
Thanks
Hey DaBurner,
Did you say yes to open all in PCS6? If you did then all PSD files should open in Photoshop CS6. If that is not happening, then I am not sure how to help. Unfortunately, I only have Photoshop CS6 and have not tried installing any of the cloud versions yet. I saw on the Adobe forums that some people who installed CC and then uninstalled CS6 are having trouble with the file associations. Apparently if you uninstall CS6 after installing CC it messes up the file associations. Whatever is causing that issue may be what is causing Mac to not associate all the PSD to CS6 with the change all button.
Hopefully someone else may have an idea as to what is going on. I think you should try posting this question on the Adobe site if you not already done so to see if anyone over there has had any luck changing the association.

I did say "yes" to change all to CS6, but it jumps back to Photoshop CC.
I have done some other research and found what you stated.
I have backed up the entire computer and I have unistalled Photoshop CC.
Now I have exactly what I want, just Photoshop CS6
I have even tested this by taking PSD and TIFF files and pressing (command i) and when I click the change all it stays on Photoshop CS6.
This is now doing what I need it to do.
Thanks for your help
