iTunes Constantly "Not Responding" in Windows 8

Hi all,

iTunes has been giving me problems for the past while, constantly running incredibly slowing, and showing as "not responding" in my task manager.

PC is more then capable (processor, ram, etc, etc) of running it. I've tried the basic things, disabling other software, reinstalled iTunes, disabled firewalls, etc, but to no avail. I took a look through the forms and saw someone suggest copying a .dll file from common files to the iTunes folder, but that didn't yield any results either.

If anyone could point me in the right direction, or share any possible remedies for this situation, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Tyler

I'm getting the same plus various problems synching all my devices and I do not believe that all three devices have suddenly become corrupt.

I mostly re-boot the device and it then works, if iTunes freezes I end program and start again but it does become frustrating. It has only happened with the latest update of iTunes, but the device problems go back to the next to last OS update (i.e. not the one that took place this week). Becomes more frustrating when you have three to synch and all play up.

I shall try the link jeffd55 has provided and see if that makes a difference.

The links the support team provided do not solve the problem. On my computer there is nothing else running except Bonjour! It's running from both the "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)" folders.

I solved the problem by deleting Bonjour. I would have tried deleting just one or the other of the two instances (I figured they were conflicting with each other), but when I went to uninstall it there was only one option and they both got deleted during the uninstall.

Now itunes seems to work properly, it does give a notification that certain aspects of the program wont work and "you have to uninstall and re-install itunes" to get Bonjour back. But, I don't mind because I only use it for podcasts so none of the broken features bother me and the notification when I open the program is just a single click to get rid of. So, if you do mind not being able to connect your ipod or things like that then this may not be your solution. But deleting Bonjour works for me.
