I have a 2008 macbook that the track pad acts like I am right clicking

no matter what I do. It's not the battery, the battery has been out of it for 6 months. I am so angry I want to throw it at a wall. I bought a new power cord because mine broke and it worked for the first time in a year. Then the OEM power cord broke at the connection in the space of 2 weeks. I borrowed one (same OEM cord from Amazon) that had broken, but still worked, at the same spot, but it is back to the I'm selecting everything and the computer is essentially useless, as is my terabyte drive. USB mouse, bluetooth mouse, no matter the input, it acts like I am non-stop right clicking. Any thoughts?
