Safari won't load Facebook
All of a sudden Safari won't load Facebook. All other pages load just fine, but not Facebook. Facebook loads fine on FireFox though.

Just had same problem. Go to Safari>Preferences. Select Privacy tab. Under "Cookies" click "Manage website Data." You will see a long list of cookies, search for facebook. Delete everything related to facebook.
That should do it....
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Now delete the Safari cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that doesn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
We tried both without success. Facebook is the only web site that is giving us issues.
Sorry, but I've tried all your suggestions with no change at all. This doesn't make sense. Why would Safari stop being able to "make a secure connection", that's what it tells me, with Facebook and not with any other web sites. If I upgraded to "Mavericks" from "Mountain Lion" would that make a difference since a new version of Safari is included? The last time I upgraded, "Snow Leopard" to Mountain Lion", it was not a pretty picture and it drove my wife nuts so I've held off just for that reason.

Doubtful and upgrade would make any difference.
By chance, do you have anti virus software installed?
Or any apps such as MacKeeper or CleanMyMac?
I have none of those items installed. It just stopped loading a couple of days ago for no apparent reason. "Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server "www.facebook.com"", that is the error message I get every time I try to go to that site.
I have the same issue. It seems to be fairly widespread and Facebook is the only site where there is a problem. Chrome is able to access Facebook
I even tried deleting the saved passwords in "keychain" and that did nothing. I tried to re-setup my wife's Facebook account in iPhoto and it did not bring up any accounts to connect to. This is very weird. I'm afraid to mess with anything else as I don't know OS X very well and don't want to screw up my wife's computer as I won't be able to fix it.
Frameguy, This problem appears to be widespread. I believe it's up to Facebook to fix this. A similar problem occurred recently with Youtube
Well, good luck with that as we both have a love/hate relationship with Mr. Zuckerberg's little baby!
my safari on iPad works fine, it's the imac which has the issue ..
If you are on system 10.8.3, updating to the latest version — currently 10.8.5 — apparently will fix it.
I just updated to 10.8.4 from 10.8.3 and that did the trick!! Whoo Hoo!! Mama will be sooo happy!
I am currently 8.0.2 but clicking softare update, it comes back with "unable to check for update. WIFI is working fine.
