Im looking into a refurbished MacBook Air, but I'm very worried that it's going to have some cosmetic flaws like scratches, dents, etc. I have OCD and want to make sure that my laptop looks 100% like a new one.
Actually maybe yes. A dent wouldn’t be considered cosmetic and the computer would get a new display or bottom piece. But scratches, maybe. I don’t know what Apple’s policy is with the aluminum computers but I do know that the polycarbonate notebooks might come with superficial scratches but not gouges.
In other words, for an OCD kinda person it might be best to purchase new. My brother is OCD and he hates the idea that somebody drove his new car a couple miles just to get it to the dealership. He bought two Hondas and picked them up right at the factory.

Of the three MBPs that I have purchased (all refurbished) I have never seen one cosmetic flaw in any of them. No dents, no scratches or any stains. It may be typical or maybe I was very lucky.
Should you have any concerns, be advised that refurbished units may be returned in the 14 day time frame as a new one with no questions asked. I suggest that you order with confidence.
