Hello! I'm new to the whole Mac Mini thing, so jargon may kind of throw me off, lol. But, issue at hand, I'm running 10.4.11 and I'm attempting to upgrade my software to Snow Leopard. When I insert the retail disk, it's either spit back out or a message pops and says there is nothing on the disk. The disk is brand new shipped from Apple. Am I even able to upgrade from 10.4 to 10.6? Help me, please o_O
TO install from the disk you have insert the computer and restart it, and hold the c key so it boots from the install disk. Then select the language and continue to install Mac OS X.
Getting this when holding down C during restart. Btw thanks for your speedy response!
Yea, I have no clue how to check RAM/ disk space. I'm guessing it's in System Preferences. I'll see if I can find another support doc to show me how. I'm almost sure I can find it. I'll be back with an update after I eat good! Thanks for your help and Happy 4th to all!
To check RAM, click on the icon on the menu bar and the click on 'About This Mac'. This will generate the following display:
To check for disk space, click on the HDD icon on your desktop (Usually Macintosh HD) with COMMAND+I and it should generate this display:
