Qwest DSL with 2Wire 2700 wireless router

Hi there,

I've read the forums regarding DSL service using the 2Wire 2700HG, and I'm still having a problem with no solution.

I have an iMac G4 1GHz with Mac OS 10.4.7 and an airport extreme card installed. It will not see the wireless router (2Wire 2700HG). I have turned off network encryption, and it is broadcasting the SSID, but my mac still won't see the network. When I manually attempt to join the network, it tells me that there is an error.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I would try using a wireless survey software, look for signal and noise ratios.. Also if you haven't already plug and unplug (power cycle) your router. Do you have wireless camera's or other devices that may cause intereference in the vicinity? Does/has your imac G4 ever connected to a wireless network? And I am asuming your range is not the issue! 🙂 Hope you find some solution.. sorry for my rambled response.

Hi all. Thanks for you suggestions. I can place a PC laptop in the same location as my iMac G4, and it has no problem connecting to the network, so I don't think it is an interference issue. I also am not trying to extend an existing airport network with this 2wire device, it is the sole access point, and I'm simply trying to connect to it for internet access. I have not had a wireless network prior to this one, so this would be the first wireless network my iMac is attempting to connect to. Any other suggestions out there? Thanks so much in advance.
