Blu-Ray burning error after Final Cut Pro 10.1.2 update.

I upgraded Final Cut Pro X to 10.1.2 I can no longer burn blu-ray. I get an error message "Either the video file or the audio file were an invalid format". I get the same message sharing through Final Cut or through Compressor. Please help!

Thank God I'm not alone! Ditto. I've been pulling my hair out today. Called Pro Support and they guy didn't mention that it's an update issue. He thought that perhaps it's related to some music I'm using in my soundtrack (feature film) that came from iTunes and might be copy protected. I deleted a couple of recent adds that might be the culprit but no go. So I gave up and just burned a regular DVD, no problem. This is coming at the worst time - have to deliver screening copies!

Tom,

I am going the way I always have... burning straight to blu-ray on an external Pioneer drive. I have been burning blu-ray since FCP 7 with no problems until this last update. I have tried using "share" blu-ray and sending to compressor... same message either way. This is really frustrating as I have some customers waiting to get their discs and now this!

Just to point out that the OP reported the same failure in Compressor. But give it a try anyway in case the causes of your issues are different.

Otherwise, I guess Roxio Toast would be the most cost-effective alternative. renting Adobe Production, Premiere, which would allow you download Encore is another way to go – at a higher price.
