No sound output?
My iPod 80GB Classic plays when connected to my computer but I get no output through the line out/headphone out, or when I try to connect it in my car using the iPod 30pin connector. I have reset it several times.
If it were just the headphone socket that didn't work then I suggest replacing that. If the 30 pin connector doesn't output audio either that suggests deeper problems. When it is connected to your computer the audio is being created by the computer not the device.
