how do I hear the iPhone externally while I have my HA on? The sound is only thru my HA

It sounds like you have the HA paired to your phone with bluetooth, and you want to know how to make sound come from the iPhone speaker rather than the Linx 7. You can quickly disable the bluetooth function on your phone with the Control Center, and re enable it when you want to switch the audio source as needed:

You can access Control Center from anywhere in iOS—including the Lock screen. To access Control Center, swipe up from the bottom of the screen. To close Control Center, swipe down, tap the top of the screen, or press the Home button.
