About iDisk
iDisk is your personal storage space on Apple's Internet servers. Because it's on the Internet, you can access it from anywhere at any time.

Use iDisk to host a website, store or back up documents, or share your files with anyone who has an Internet connection. iDisk is also a source of the latest and greatest .Mac downloads and member benefits.

You need your .Mac member name and password to connect to your iDisk so that unauthorized users cannot access your data. To protect your iDisk, it's a good idea to occassionally change your password. For more information, see "Changing your password."

If you're using Mac OS X version 10.3 or later, you can create a copy of your iDisk on your computer. When you create a copy of your iDisk on your computer, you can make changes to it at any time, even when you're not connected to the Internet. For more information, see "Using iDisk with Mac OS X version 10.3 or later."

iDisk also works with other .Mac services and applications to expand the power of your Mac. For more information, see "Using iDisk with other applications."
.Mac comes with 1 gigabyte (GB) of combined email and iDisk storage. .Mac trial members get 50 megabytes (MB) of storage; Family Pack sub-accounts get 256 MB.

You can designate storage space to your .Mac Mail account and your iDisk. For example, if you need more storage space on your iDisk for storing and sharing files, you can set your iDisk storage capacity to 800 MB and reserve 224 MB of storage for .Mac Mail. You can also increase your combined email and iDisk storage to a total of 2 GB or 4 GB by purchasing more storage.

Your iDisk storage is automatically set to 512 MB unless you change it. You can't assign less than 15 MB of storage to your iDisk.

Hi steini

The idisk can only be accessed via your username and password i believe. The public folder is useful for people on the same network...(in an office situation, where everyone is using the same network)I think its pretty much a non starter for other people to view outside that network. There are other places you can look though...

Good luck

If you set your iDisk Public area to not require a password, anyone can upload to there (but, they can also delete). Your iDisk area that ANYONE can access mac or pc (or linux or whatever as long as they have a web connection) is:

http://idisk.mac.com/username-Public

Using that interface (and by allowing others to read and write in your System Preferences - .mac - iDisk settings) will enable anyone to upload a file to your Public folder on your iDisk.

I keep stuff on mine for access by other users to see how I accomplished certain projects, etc.
