So, I just rented Life Itself, the new Roger Ebert documentary, on my iPad. It says it downloaded, but now it won't give me an option to rent it. What do I do?
I'm sorry for the typo. It should say "It won't give me an option to watch it" after I downloaded it.
Where are you trying to watch it on your iPad ? It should have downloaded into the Videos app, if it's not there then try searching for it via the iPad's spotlight search screen (pull down the centre of the home screen in iOS 7 ; swipe your first home screen to the right in iOS 6 and below) and see if that finds it and lets you watch it

I am running 12.1.2.27 itunes on Macbook Pro.
I have a US account (but watching the movie from Singapore). I bought the movie on itunes, but it won't work on my Macbook Pro, but it plays on my Apple TV.
I use VPN to connect to US servers. But it doesn't work too.

If you are not in the US then you cannot use the store, you have to be in a country to use its store
