Super drive issue

When I try to burn a CD-R.. the superdrive takes the disk.. spins it for a second.. then nothing happens.. its not appearing on the desktop.. this is a brand new pack

of cd-r no scratches, or anything.. I have to use the keyboard eject button to get the disk to eject and it ejects . Its not mounting to let me burn to it and I dont know why.. seems to work ok when i use a dvd-r.. Help.. it has worked with the cd-r before..

A couple thoughts. First try resetting the SMC Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)

and PRAM About NVRAM and PRAM

IF those don't correct it try a different brand of disc, macs can be picky. You can try a cleaning disc that you can get at places like Radio Shack.

if all of that fails you've probably got a failed drive, DVD's work because DVD and CD use different lasers.
