Just did the update yesterday, and here's the issue:
The OLD way was this: I have DND (Do Not Disturb) set to certain hours, and "always" (so NOT just when phone is locked). So say it's late, the phone is in DND, but I'm surfing on Safari or playing games, etc. When a text comes in, it would be silent, but my notification bar (I use "banners" at the top of the screen) still appeared, notifying me of the received text.
The NEW way: DND eliminates these notifications as well. So no notification AT ALL of an incoming message (except the red-circled number on the app icon). So It's late, the phone is in DND, and I'm on Safari or playing a game. When a text comes in, I am not alerted in any way.
I've checked all my settings and nothing has changed. Is this now by design? If so - it's terrible. I still want the visual notification even if the phone is in DND mode!
For what its worth, I also updated my iPad Mini, and notifications still work like before! So this is only an iPhone issue; the iPad seems unaffected.
