To repair the hard drive on my iMac, I need to start up using my installation disk which I can't find. What do I do?

I am running OSX 10.6.8 on an iMac and when I ran Disk Utility and did a Verify Disk I got an error that the "Macintosh HD was found corrupt and needs to be repaired." I have to "Start up my computer with another disk such as my Mac OS X installation disk." But if I can't find the disk or downloaded it, how do I start up?
