I used boot camp to install Windows 7 64-bit. On Windows 7 I can find out the dedicated video memory (VRAM) easily by exploring my graphical settings. I want to find out how to do this in Mac OSX so I can figure out if my boot camped Windows 7 is getting less dedicated video memory than my Mac OSX. The reason I suspect this is that many online forums suggest that a Macbook Pro with 4GB RAM should be getting 384mb.

I think I didn't make myself clear enough. When i said currently using I didn't mean at a certain time. What I meant is how much of the system memory is OSX allowing my graphics card to have. On Windows via boot camp it says 64mb but on a machine with 4GB RAM surely it should be higher?

I did try a gpu monitoring software - atMonitor. VRAM stayed at 0% the whole time; i didn't play any games on it though.

No it's not because VRAM available is not variable. It depends on the amount of RAM in your computer. And ive come to understand that a computer with 4GB RAM should have much more than 64mb VRAM available. To clarify on that last point, i checked the amount of vram available in my boot camped windows os but suspect that maybe less vram is being made available to my windows os
