Hello, could it be a triangle with an explanation point in it? That means it's offline for some reason.

Is it POP or IMAP account(s)?

In Mail's Window Menu, choose Connection Doctor, any red dots for status, if so what is the exact message?

Then click the Show Details button & Check again.

who is your provider, the part after the @sign?

    OK, I'll check back.

LOL!!  Provider is orange.fr -made Apple check the mail settings instead of pop it gave IMAP but I don't think that has anything to do with the problem- how about canceling the old account then doing it all over again?

    best regards

Well, deleting the account may lose all the mails you have now.

    What ports are set?

    The receiving email ports are:

    IMAP is port 143

    IMAP-SSL is port 993

    POP is port 110

    POP-SSL is port 995

    Outgoing ports are...

SMTP and SMTP-SSL is on ports 25, 587 and 465. Port 587 has to be SSL, and port 465 is enforced TLS-wrapped and is generally used by Outlook users.

    HI!

the ports are ok I tried cleaning and repairing disks etc and Onyx

i need more help what is possibly left for me to check?

Most of the time I'd suspect one of 2 other things...

orange.fr has changed their authentication without telling their users.

Malformed eMails clogging up both ways.

So anyway, did Connection Doctor say it connected or not? What was exact error if there were some?

Can you login to their Webmail in a Btowser?
