I have an old macbook, and while trying to restore it to factory setting, I accidentally hit 'erase all' on my startup disk, now I cant even start my computer.
I have the 2 original OX S installation CDs still, if this help.
PLease help, I really need this laptop for my kids to go to school.
Startup your Mac while holding down the C key and inserting disc number one at the same time.
You should be able to reinstall OS X from there.

i actually tried that, but the computer kept ejecting the CD and went straight to the Mac OS X Utilities page
Choose DiskUtilities from the mac Utilities page and format/erase the erased startup disk with Mac OS Extended (journaled).
Then do again as Carolyn said to install the original OS.
