Difference in sound nano v shuffle

I Very well may be (not?) hearing things. Has anyone noticed a difference in sound between the most recent versions of the iPod nano (7th gen) and shuffle (4th gen)? Am i crazy in thinking the sound from music in the shuffle is less rich and dynamic? Talking just about listening to music through earbuds.
