My sister just got a iPhone 5c. When she tries to send a picture message it says it failed to deliver. She is able to send me picture messages (I have a iPhone 5) but she cannot send them to other devices without turning on her cellular data. I have no idea why it won't work, and she's left it up to me to fix it. Anyone with any ideas please let me know?
To receive picture aka MMS you need to have cellular data on.
Settings>Cellular>Cellular Data>On
Settings>Cellular>Cellular Data>LTE>On
Some carrier require you to have correct APN settings to receive picture and data settings to work. I only know the APN for T-mobile.
Then why can we send MMS to each other? Neither of us have our data turned on?
MMS only works without cellular data only for iMessage on WIFI
You can try on your iPhone to send an MMS to an non-iphone or non-imesssage just as text. It won't work without cellular data. MMS or group chat will not work without cellular data to send as text.
