72 hours after using iTunes:New-Feed-URL, the store is not updated.

Im using the iTunes:New-Feed-URL setting in pod press. As originally submitted, my podcast page showed COGNATION >> Podcast Feed

I have implemented the New-Feed-URL to remove the "...Podcast Feed" from the title:

it has been approx 72 hours and the iTunes Store does not yet show the update. I am new to all of this, but have validated the RSS feed and am able to see the changes in the store, so I assume 😕 I've done everything correctly. When I try to create a button using the iTunes Link Maker, it still uses the old feed address (I have released/posted episode 2 using the new feed url...i think) At this point, I am only 2 episodes in and am not using a 301 redirect. Should I just resubmit rss feed to the store and start fresh? Wait a few more days? Is there a way I can delete my original podcast submission?

If all you wanted to do was change the displayed name of the podcast then you needed only to change it in the feed. I gather that instead you've created a new feed and used the redirect tag in the old feed to redirect to it, and left the old feed in place.

If you subscribe to your feed from the Store page you should get the new feed in the 'Podcasts' section. The Store itself checks feeds in rotation, so it can take a couple of days, sometimes more, before it gets round to checking a feed. Obviously it won't update to using the new feed until it does so, so it may be just a question of waiting.

However you appear to have messed this up. Your Store page appears to be

https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/cognation-podcast-feed/id894070864?mt=2

On clicking 'Subscribe' and going to the Podcasts section the feed appears empty. iTunes is looking for a feed at

http://cognationpod.com/feed/podcast/

This redirects to http://cognationpod.com/project/podcast-2/ in a browser, which would require a 301 redirect as the 'itunes:new-feed-url' works only in iTunes. This is a web page, not a feed. Downloading from the first URL also produces a web page.

So at present your podcast is not going anywhere. You need start by restoring a working feed without redirects to the first URL, and then proceed from there. As I say, if you only want to change the title, just change it in the feed. If you really want to move to a different feed, the full instructions are given here:

Make sure you are redirecting to a working feed.

Roger - thanks for the reply and advice, I really appreciate it.

My goal was to change the title in the store by removing ... ">> Podcast Feed" from the displayed title. I have changed my current feed url back to http://cognationpod.com/feed/podcast.

As you can see in the screenshot below, the feed name is The COGNATION Podcast - is this the correct way to changing the title in the feed? As shown in the second screenshot posted above, I really just want the store to display COGNATION >
