Outlook emails (formerly Hotmail) & IPhone 4s

Hello,

I have had my IPhone for a number of months now, and I have had emails from my email account(Outlook - now renamed), downloaded to my IPhone 4s. It is now starting to behave differently than before.

I have deleted emails on my phone, then trashed them. After a few seconds, I then get another batch of old emails going back a number of years that are then downloaded; sometimes it has been quite alot - say 185 at a time. They all come in as 'unread'. I have read them on the laptop years ago.

It is all very strange, I have deleted loads on my phone, they remain on Outlook - I just don't understand it!

I have tried the 'Edit - Mark then read and unread' thing as shown on these forums - but it has not helped.
